Feverfew (High Parthenolide)

Feverfew

Feverfew [Nervous], commonly known as Bachelor’s Buttons, is a perennial plant often cultivated for ornamental purposes. It is rarely found in the wild. Feverfew is native to southern Europe and the Caucasus region of the former Soviet Union. It was introduced to America by early English colonists. It gives off an odor that repels bees and may contain pyrethrin, a natural insecticide. Feverfew contains niacin and iron and provides nutrition to the central nervous system. Each capsule contains 340 mg of feverfew. High-Parthenolide Feverfew delivers 500 mcg of parthenolide in a total of 212 mg of feverfew—from a specially grown “high parthenolide” feverfew leaf—per tablet. Parthenolides are sesqui-terpene lactones, the major dietary com-ponents of feverfew. Each preservative-free tablet provides 500 mcg per tablet of parthenolides equivalent to 8 fresh leaves of feverfew.
