Pantothenic Acid [Nervous], also known as vitamin B5, is manufactured in part by intestinal bacteria. This water-soluble vitamin is necessary for proper adrenal function, the conversion of fat and sugar into energy, the maintenance of normal growth and healing, and the development of the central nervous system. It works in tandem with the other B-complex vitamins. It is needed to make steroid hormones and the nerve-transmitting chemical acetylcholine. The body may need increased amounts when under physical stress. Remember that all B vitamins work together and should be taken together if possible. Each capsule provides 250 mg of d-calcium pantothenate, or 2,500 percent of the Daily Value.
